Doctor perscribed antibiotics he feels are not necessary before seeing patient. Is this medical malpractice?

My father is in a rehabilitation center after his stroke. He had a trach put in, and recently, we (the family) began to notice a bad odor when he coughs, blood in his saliva. After this reference to a nurse, was a test based on saliva and two bacteria were found. My father was put on antibiotics. Two days later, his doctor (who has seen it all twice in the last three months) and told us that in his professional opinion, father not an infection, and there is no reason for him to be antibiotics, which he perscribed. He also stated that it is really dangerous for the father of antibiotics, but theirs, for it was the wish of the family. It has never been - we just wanted to know if he had an infection. Today, we found that we were more than $ 1,500 for drugs, we asked (ever) was calculated. Insurance does not cover it. Is it legal? What can we do? Although we can not afford it. First, you need another doctor to get your father to see this doctor is a danger to his health! A person who is on a Trach need more than two times in three months to be evaluated. You also need a second opinion. Request a copy of all his medical records. (They can not deny!) You also need an itemized bill. If he is on Medicare or Medicaid, you must contact them, sounds like he is guilty of fraud. You should also consult a lawyer, most people speak to you about a free initial consultation. I know of no antibiotic that costs so much for a two-day course! If your father is running a fever and a bacterial infection, he needed antibiotics. This is a very complicated situation. You do exactly the bacteria was found to be found. If you have the opportunity to make friends with a nurse or counselor, they can discreetly help you. You are entitled to your father's records. For the future, you should tell your father that rehabilitation is not to give medication without first consulting with your insurance or your family, I can see that you can not afford a lawyer, but you may be able to find one that works a contingency. Need a. Also check the support for rehabilitation of patients. I totally agree with Bandmom. Good luck. Medical errors are one of the top ten reasons for death. Errors in medical therapy may be at different stages of treatment. More information about the prevention of this technology is available for http://errors.in/medicaltreatment.html.

Why so much anger in this category?

I've been lurking in this category for a while and I can not understand why there are so many conflicts between them and against alternative therapies. It seems that those who oppose him just to come back here to waste by not responding to questions from people about the case. Pharmacists have a lot of dangerous side effects, and conventional medicines are constantly being recalled. It is not uncommon to hear lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies from the harmful effects of some medications. Moreover, the number of people who suffer abuse of natural treatments are not even close, and always hear of people helped with health problems that conventional medicine can not treat. I know there are conventional physicians and pharmaceutical companies increasingly turned my growing number of people from them in a safer and more holistic approach to health, but rather frustrated too bitter and angry that they believe helps to not have as much weight as it used to, why they are not educating themselves instead of their frustration with their patients? Who has more independence in making medical decisions: physician's assistant or nurse practitioner?

I make a big career for 40 years. I once long ago orientation, have good grades and my subsequent major and master's degree (related) and I put most of the requirements for the logo. school, minus the MCAT. But my age, with costs. training, liability insurance, and the change in medicine is for me a little scared, and I am thinking of alternative careers. How can my academic, medical-oriented mind to the best work in less time than that. The school - which the PA or RN as an artist? Do you have any experience of / with one of these? Do you have another idea that I have not thought of? Money is a problem, if scholarships are available. Thanks in advance! Doctors assistant for sure. A young doctor has more freedom and I think the more prestige and credibility. It is never too late to start, check out this page for more info. PureMedicalJobs.com Need a POI, you must first RN and get a master's degree in nursing. You have more automomy NP Depending on the state where you live, you have a medical sign behind you. The Palestinian Authority is required to have a title (no matter how it is) and apply to PA school. The Palestinian Authority can only practice with a doctor who signs behind you and make sure everything is done. I just take the money. I think it is more likely to get a grant for the nurses because of shortage of nurses. Have you ever thought of pharmaceutical sales, though? Now is the money tree .

Ever been in the hospital? Did you ever wait over 30 minutes for a nurse to answer the light?

Never been in the hospital? Have you ever wait longer than 30 minutes for a nurse to respond to light? Do you think the skill level of staff can have a direct relationship with patients with complications in hospitals? I almost die twice in two different hospitals nurses contracted MRSA. I stayed in a gerney unattended in a hospital corridor for three hours and I can not walk or stand. A nurse shouted, screamed, why should I take my pills. They are not my pills - wrong color - belonged to the boy next door. We are asked to arrive early to appoint a doctor, but hopefully (sometimes for hours). I went to college but I guess that your time is more important than mine. If a U.S. Marine had to go kill someone to save lives, but can not be late. Doctor blames me and other patients for the high cost of insurance - really? - Are you kidding me? I have never been maimed or killed someone with my professional incompetence, Obama is the man that we elected to solve this problem? LMAO: -) Thanks to communicate Razor's Edge for us to track how many people have agreed on a hospital floor. That really take care of patients? Short staffed? I've seen what they should do just revised the hospital's staff during the day, you were at a local hospital you were not. This unfortunately happens all the time, and will only get worse with the new health care bill. I have many, many times over the years has gotten worse and I have been among the best in my area, not just community hospitals, and they're all the same nurse who is not important, more and doctors who care even less, and the new Health Care Account will not change anything as long as the employees do not give a damn No, but it will soon. I love my Russian friend said he said he moved here to escape socialism and Obama care hit back in it. I asked him what he likes and he said "return home only the government or the KGB to see a doctor, everyone is waiting." Depends on who you think is a nurse. Blaming a technical assistant RN (team leader), but also, and nurses. RN, s power plant, the land is responsible for assisting customers in the food, hygiene facilities and customers, vital signs, etc. diaphragm RN and retain the most seriously ill. Most hospitals are cutting staff because of the costs and therefore the staff is limited at times. Maybe when you are discharged, you can file complaints and find solutions to negative situations. Moreover, the newborn is to have as much training and licensing, LPN, nurse practitioners call if you can have a year to 18 months. Family Nurse Practitioner VS Family Doctor?

I just graduated with my BSN. I've always wanted a family nurse practitioner (8 years), but recently the idea of a practitioner took my interest. I searched the internet for some pros and cons, but I can not decide which direction I go. I love the interaction I have with my patients and I do not want to lose that money is not an issue. I love what I do, and that to me is more important than any dollar amount (although somehow, I would rather live as comfortably). I guess I would be employment. If I understand correctly, I can go to medical school with my BSN degree and not in advance. Is it true? So what's the difference between professional responsibility? If I worked at a hospital, they must pay for it (I'm sure it depends, but generally?) Do you have any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Follow up: Nurse Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist?

Okay, so I decided not to go to health insurance because school.with above, insistence on reducing insurance costs for private appointments and hospital bills, meaning higher income lower, it just does not cool.So I'll be a nurse practitioner or a Crna. I really wanted an anesthesiologist and a Crna never knew existed! I think that's really cool, not because we have not any kind of an anesthesiologist (although there are some differences of course). So you think it would be a good choice? I prayed about it and with my family in medicine, I think it is doing the right thing is hard, I just need to know what to do. I do not think Edward Cullen is a nurse practitioner. If you do anesthesia, Crna. When you have a BSN, there are a few more years, if you change your mind and you can while training in the moonlight. So when I decided not to go to medical school for my own reasons, I took several things that were related doctor and then "Eeny meeny miny mo" I chose respiratory therapy, twice, thrice. I always thought that God was guiding me because I wanted one of the other options. If you really want to be a doctor, you must be a doctor and accept a slightly lower income. There is more to life than money. The two alternatives are fresh and probably good to be a doctor, in practice, either generally or anesthesia. So after his dream. I do not think it is logical to consider the potential benefits in assessing the cost of their studies, but whether it would be a lawyer now. It 's very difficult, not to help the poor, at least for me. My mother was a nurse and greatly appreciated. He worked in a psychiatric facility. He liked the work of more than a normal hospital. (I joke that when they find me) Good luck and I hope you find the path that is right for you because you have to do in family medicine, talk to them about your thoughts or ask your professional advisers. They have more experience of the site and as someone Y! A. Your personal resources can provide answers to questions you have not taken into account. It is restricted to one reason or another, in these areas? There are so many opportunities in medical research .

Does national health care work in Canada?

Yes, works fine, I have discussions with the 100s is good. It is a bold face lie, they come to U.S. for care they do not. Of the 100 I have not talked to most of a car or travel. I told the nurse to call me every day doctors also think it works well. The neocons that liability as a reason for the high price point, it is not. This is just another lie. 1 / 10 of one percent have insurance. Neocons would receive $ 1,000,000 for his father who died, but they would not get a penny if you die as a direct result of negligence. It's good for the poor. After bad I'm talking about. Yes they say to me, long queues are common. I'll pay you to visit my doctor $ 75 for an office and 1 hour to wait many times. It's no Biggy about your health. We spend 500 billion dollars on defense, and we use only 14 percent of spending on social programs. 3000 died on 11 September. There are 1 / 10 die of a percent this year, because no health insurance in the United States. Deciding between Nurse, PA or MD?

I am now riding at a crossroads in my college career where I have to choose which way I go. Originally my plan was to nursing school while I keep my equipment military contracts since the medical school, an obstetrician / gynecologist, to be completed. But yesterday was a good friend of mine tells me that the PA school and working on the details. She informed me that they paid more than nurses, more hands (not hospital) at the opportunities and responsibilities, and almost no salary as a doctor, but most of his professional responsibility and have a couple of hours so they can raise a family. I have been a very good student and had good grades, so I think I can find all three, but my main concern is the number of hours worked (I'll hold a big family.and really help) and the amount of non paying less for insurance - want provide enough money for this family to them everything they need. Is it true that the PA does not usually pay insurance pay? MD How often do after insurance benefits achieved? I'm starting to think a nurse is just a waste of my time on my years of education to pursue my ultimate goal should be, but I'm starting to think there is a better option for a PA family, and wages would be very different after the insurance is taken into account. Im only 20.21 next month, so I have plenty of time for me =). I finished my undergrads in nursing for three semesters instead of 4.although, I know a number of classes that will turn into just taking classes for fun when I go to the second Thurs routes.which im okay. Choosing a career, go for one at the top. I suggest you do your credentials as an MD. But that's just me.it end of your decision on what you want in life. You have a lot to think about do.a and much of the research, should consider writing pros and cons of each. See what it does for you and make a decision. Age is also an important factor, as well as your age? It's much more to make a career decision at this level of malpractice premiums alone! You have to shade or talk to a PA. Yes, you are practicing medicine and has a huge legal liability PA. And yes, usually bargain for negligence paid as part and parcel of the recruitment process (but makes the documents into groups - that is paid to all as part of a payment practice). Only one malpractice MD solo practice to pay directly, but is not as simple. To incorporate and neglect will be part of an operating cost, together with the costs of the office, the license bill, etc Malpractice total income paid for the year / group. Only the full hospital malpractice is a part of the package of hospital. and much of the research, should consider writing pros and cons of each. See what it does for you and make a decision. I accidentally said, "Hello," to a female nurse the other day. What sort of monetary damages am I looking at?

Apparently my insurance does not cover this type of outrageous behavior. Thanks. Uh-oh, I think they can do for mental injury, sexual harassment and indecent exposure when the word comes from = P should have been castrated, so you must download the dog house you have. Egad! As long as you can not open the door (the horror!) Buy her dinner (Siberia) or say that she looks great in her outfit, ok you .*** And if a nurse can take care of themselves. You will be ok. prolly billion if not billions. The thought of you thinking about dropping the H bomb is going to cost. If Obama is elected, he would give you even more money. Think of your paycheck is stolen when she takes 99% of the rest of your life, you have no damage. Unless your ego. She was probably too busy to answer you back. Next time, try to nurse. I hate being the bearer of bad news, but it seems that you are in financial difficulty, you will most likely lose your license, your house, your car, your dog, and eventually your manhood. You are screwed a dog. I think the only damage you will be pleased that we have much more severe as an idiot. But again, you have enough space here, so you should have no problems. $ 2,500,000, USD. She made a mistake. and this error is unforgivable. She says hello to a nurse Phillipina? oh good god, it's a sin. I do not understand why you made such a terrible mistake! $ 1.98. Which would leave some money left over to get treated for tips, the victim mentality makes you .

malpractice insurance?

Tennessee requires malpractrice LPNs have liability insurance? Contact the Tennessee Department of Health, or someone who is an LPN in Tennessee. No matter if it's necessary or not. It's a good idea just in case. better safe than sorry:) the medical malpractice insurance is not required by law, anywhere, to my knowledge. It 's really a good idea, however, and most of the time, is bound by a contract - ie, the hospital will not allow the employees are working without proof of medical malpractice - and to offer their employees .

Why exactly is healthcare and insurance more expensive than what (we think) they should be?

So much of what Obama says is the cost to remedy the "skyrocketing" premiums, etc. I have never heard him say how these problems are first and foremost. Why is there not enough to run? There is absolutely no shortage of people want to be doctors. Why not just accept the fact that more students in medical and nursing schools? (And no, the quality of care decline enough to be desired, it would be again, so to speak) is something else going on? I have read that it is certainly not civil liability. 1 word.Lobbyist. Obama to Big Pharma and insurance companies from DC kick and let the free market do its work. Lobbyist, pay your congressman / woman, hundreds of thousands of dollars in a certain way on legislation that will benefit their business vote is a recipe for what we have here today.a disaster after constitutional law faces any problems our nation properly now. Health care, illegal immigration, a strong currency, war (s), personal freedoms and liberties Sicko still shows, etc? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386032/ I'll tell you why. Health care and insurance are so expensive, because it is a for-profit field. Health care is a necessity and therefore very right to continue paying the fees do not know, because they have to make sure they are covered by your health is not well. Obama's plan would eliminate some of the benefits "and the bonds would not be necessary to continue keeping the shareholders happy. Premiums should rise if doctors and nurses wanted a raise. Since insurance companies play the system to keep prices high.

How does someone become a Registered Nurse?

I am doing a report for one of my classes and I need to know what training is needed for the occupation. The medical malpractice insurance rates and fees. RN license meet certain criteria for nursing experience and specialty, and would pass a multiple choice and must have at least four years of college and a good education. You will find useful information here: What http://www.nursingdegreeguide.org/articles/types_of_nurses/becoming_a_registered_nurse_rn/ fee malpractice insurance, you have it here at: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/520660 All the best

How HARD IS IT TO GET INTO NURSE ANESTHESIA SCHOOL COMPARED TO DENTISTRY (PROBABILITY)?

I must either nurse or anesthesia dentistry in school.but just curious, my chances to get into either field.ALSO what field do you think is better in terms of the accepted planning lifestyle (IU day, decent wages, On Call, professional, relaxed ETC) is a great big thank you in advance of treatment is not nearly as hard as dental anesthesia. If you do not have to take a life of anesthesia, you will always be on guard and never has time for herself. with dental care, you are super busy, but you can also have a family and a little more time. care you do not pay much, but you have more time for friends, family, and only the extra time. If I were you I would try the dental school. It is very difficult but oh so worth it in the end (everyone in my family is a Dr.So I'm for people with these three modes are closely related). Follow your heart! It will help you every step of the road. I hope that you choose to be a dentist! haha Another area in the medical field that pays pretty well, x-ray tech or ultrasound tech or mammography (women usually feel more comfortable with women in this area) in some of these, you just do tests, the doctor takes some heat for the diagnosis . you just give them information. Whatever your question, I think some of your choices will be good. Lifestyle dentist can be a little less time consuming wise.Check of these other areas are also known. I have talked to several Techs and they really enjoy their job. Crna are the best (certified nurse anesthetist. They pay better to play in dente. When you upgrade, you can work at a private clinic or hospital. For the first time a nurse, working two years as a nurse and then to anesthesia school. Depending on the amount of work to accept, there are travelers who work in place for a few months in different states, and some that connect to stay in a place that can work each day or part-time benefits and earn good money. Normally, after graduation people prefer to work 40 hours a week at a school principal on the loan. Negligence is cheaper than if an anesthesiologist. Dentists tend to open their own practice or join a group with other dentists. We do not know much more. It is easy to become a nurse and the rest falls into place. is probably 50 percent more likely to become a dentist. Being a nurse is very difficult. I wonder.

Want to go into medical field but worried about the high cost of malpractice insurance? Read details.?

I want to be a nurse practitioner who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. But someone said it may be worthwhile, given the high cost of insurance against abuses. I have really wanted out of there, but I also want to be comfortable financially. I'm afraid I do not have enough money to support a family comfortably, because I have to pay half my salary in insurance each year. Is it really so bad? It will be worth 4-8 years from now? My main concern is not money, but I am not crazy to spend six or more years of school and work 40 hours a week for the chickens home to my children, Get Real? if the concern is financial, which is in the right place. Medicine helps people, and this should be your primary concern is not, as you do. If you are really interested in a doctor, must do the work for free, but they are happy to accept any payment, you can get - including poultry, agricultural products and free services - a barter system, as the old times. Depending on where you are employed, the employer may pay for professional liability, so it will not be a problem. Actually, the price of insurance for a nurse-midwife is not great, and it is normally covered by the employer. Any hiccups in the process of pregnancy or childbirth, call obstetrician with deep pockets, so your liability is not so much. The lawyers go after the big money, not the silly little nurse midwife .

Insight on becoming a nurse pract VS Dr.OB/GYN considering time invested, med. school tuition, malpractice ins?

I am a senior Bio / medical student, and because the combination of this summer with a local OB / GYN practice, I gained much experience, but it was with a nurse rather than in the head while he was still in labor in the hospital dr. My main concern is that this.would (for an eye care professional or matter) has recommended that my time is spent in the eight years of medical school + living or just get a degree in nursing and become a NP on the basis of future trends in NP (which will be able to practice medicine in a more open society) and malpractice insurance for OB / GYN and costs facing the nursing school of medicine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

I am currently in a junior high school, and I know I want to go to women's health, but I do not think that 12 years of school and the extremely high professional responsibility for me, I have someone to turn right gynecology / obstetrics. I can not decide if I want to become a physician assistant or nurse. Any advice? This job and the description of the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Physician Assistants: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos081.htm nurse practitioner: http://www.aanp.org/NR/ rdonlyres/54B71B02- D4DB - http : / / www.bls.gov/oco/ocos083.htm 4A53-9FA6-23DDA0EDD6FC/0/NPFacts6.pdf (you must read, as a nurse to find the nurses are very few PA parts and Ph.D. Applications The AAPA supports not PA PhD. A bachelor's or master is very AP. The two professions are respected, but you must earn respect. Being an NP, you first need a nurse and clinical work as a nurse. NP comes from a nursing background quite different from the PA profession has come from a medical background, and the curriculum is more like medical school (assuming that the more compressed and less) You may want to have an NP or PA you know you can find shade, so you can make an informed decision about which career suits you more. Contact your local hospital to find someone willing to allow you to find shade. You can also look at the PA and NP's to an idea of the curriculum to get. Although a physician assistant and nurse practitioner liability insurance to pay if you work in obs / gyn. People try to blame the doctor for medical complication of the workforce. Unless you are working in other areas, otherwise the paper remains a high risk occupation. You can use a doctor in the second field with a lower risk of becoming .

Malpractice Insurance?

Does anyone have a link to an average annual premiums for malpractice by doctors. I would love to be appreciated, a specialty collapse, but no details. I know it varies greatly between specialties, and I've heard between $ 30,000 and $ 50,000. If a doctor or nurse who has discussed this case, a doctor, so do not hesitate to give first hand. Thanks in advance. I worked with a plastic surgeon who has just retired. He paid 75K for his wrongdoing last year. Some are less than 30k, and some are much higher. The highest I've heard is about $ 200k/yr. Every doctor is different reward systems and we need to fill about 15 pages of forms to be completed for insurance. They take into account what you do (very special), practice your claims history, and where.

dr. vs. nurse practitioner, what's the difference:pros cons?

I really wanted to be a doctor, but every time I say this, I keep hearing that the nurse is the way forward, because of malpractice insurance and nurses have the same capabilities of the DR, but there is little difference, anyone have any idea ? I have much to ponder. Thanks! Well, not the PN do not all have the same capabilities. You will not be able to do surgery or something, but then do similar things. I think the biggest difference is that NPs tend to be more active in holistic healing and more on prevention and education of doctors. DM usually has a wide range of medical knowledge, while the NP tended to focus on a specific part of medicine. MD is making over $ 30k on average, and also more opportunities for greater profits. Of course, if you're willing to do 8 years of education MD is probably the way forward. But if you NP I think eventually you will have 5-6 years, because you need a master's degree in nursing, there really is no right or wrong answer, because it all depends on your situation. nurses working under a physician are covered by health insurance, a doctor more money. Nurses to write prescriptions, assist in surgery, do almost everything, but they should consult a doctor working in the thing. Nurse Practitioner I use on my primary office for the most part, cold, prescription drugs, physical, but if I have the primary because I have a new medical problem or follow-up of a major medical problem, I use the doctor. Agree with above. Nurses, but no responsibility. The ten stuck doing mundane tasks, blood, urine, wound care, blood pressure, glucose testing and so on. If they find any problems, "says a patient with blood in the urine, they" have "to refer patients to the doctor in the same way, the doctor always has the last word, even when the nurse correctly. Many nurses, as I know, clinics, doctors gave a full-time nursing services to a family, and now back as nurses, based on age, hours more suitable. qualify on the other hand, doctors, even for a few years of hard work, working all hours, and only then chances are they will not give up, be a mom but the kids and hire a nanny. Therefore, much depends on what you want from life outside employment, career. Difficult decisions are now available!.

benefits of a nurse practitioner and a physicians assistant?

for a project that you should know the advantages of using a nurse practitioner and medical assistant, such as health insurance, and dental malpractice, limitation in terms of retirement, disability and unemployment, stock options, security social, gifts, etc would not help. not refer to wikipedia, please, I've looked there. explain the benefits of working in general. It gave no details, so I do not know exactly what to look for. information or the common benefits of these jobs would be helpful. There is no standard package of benefits. Differ from one employer to another. Are you sure that you understand the question? This package of benefits is often negotiated as part of a package holiday. In other cases, depends on the group or a hospital or other place of work. Negligence is generally always provided unless you are an independent contractor. With this kind of work are not pat answers, it is too variable employment in one of my PA, I have absolutely no benefit at all, unless you pay my license, dishonesty is the rest of the group understands, and if I am (I go to summer ). I can lock his laboratory studies of their stuff, its radiology department that my analysis of personal use (drugs and what they stock), etc. In another work, they pay my debts PA, CPR, ACLs education, but that's all . Since its large HMO, I get recipes cheap, but not on a map - I just get a reduced price to pay. I have no health insurance, but can generally have the right "path. See if I do not feel good, I have other tasks I have been self with nothing but resumed at fault in the group (which is quite typical). As far as I know, this is a question with different answers, it really depends on the spirit of yourself, and this is a good source of reference http://wwwHealthInsuranceIdeas.info/free-online-health-insurance.htm anyway.

If my malpractice insurance is not enough to cover award, will I lose my assets?

I am a nurse being sued along with the hospital, the doctor and nurses in a malpractice suit. If the jury decides in favor of the plaintiff, and my malpractice insurance does not cover the hospital in my part of the sentence, I can lose my house and other assets? Consult a lawyer. But I think if the insurance is inadequate, since it is a good chance you can lose everything. I know that when you have lost the winners can have a guarantee against everything we have and ask the judge to make you pay or sell. As this is a model of medical practice to remember the appeal process. I will ask an attorney in your area you can confidently answer that question. Good luck. In most cases, if the price is higher than the insurance covers, the insurer will retransmit the sum insured or offer a settlement amount and obtain a signed authorization before they presented the check. If your insurance company and the lawyer is not competent you may be in trouble.

what happens if a lawsuit is brought agains you and you're a nurse?

have no insurance against irregularities in nursing at the time of the incident. havent in a lawsuit, was involved at the moment but its possibility. Obviously if I am I have no money to pay when the proceeds of the game? anyone involved in this before? You can sell what you own, such as jewelry, etc. I own my house, the bank, and my own car, not the bank. the other car is a rental, and my husband with his work if you are sued, the plaintiff gets to try to collect waste. If you are not active, you actually "-proof suit" When you get papers to explain the disappearance of lawyer malpractice suits VERY applicant if it is the law, there is no insurance to pay all judgments - no lawyer wants to fight a month costume to invest in an emergency and therefore not paid. Richard, you must hire a lawyer as soon as possible! Their attorney is all for it. Their attorney is to conduct a mock trial for you and coach you on how you respond. They are also prosecutors and prep for any questions form the plaintiff source: In 2001, I stood up for an incident in 2000, sued. It was not my fault. I never went to trial. The person I hired a lawyer sued late in the game. Your lawyer field a non-suit to the court. That meant the person who sued me alone under any circumstances. If they won they could try something of value you received. Remember when Goldman had to go to the police office, leaving the house and his Rolex. Then they found out that it was wrong .

Where can I find cheap medical malpractice/professional liability insurance as a nurse practitioner?

Array define cheap. There is not much competition out there for medical errors, prices are all pretty much the same. The main difference is in the tail or the back today - so if a policy is dramatically lower than others, you can freely rotated sure to provide coverage anywhere. You need to talk to the document that monitor and respond to an offer for his agent to get your own. Why are we so late to answer these questions? You can also try the State Medical Association. They may be related programs. It depends on what state you're in the market to determine availability. If you work in a clinic can often be added to the clinics for less tha a felony $ 1,000. in California. If you see something on your own independent agency that specializes in malpractice, because there are important issues in this policy of "prior actions" and how to handle them.

How much is malpractice insurance for a CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) per year?

Does anyone know the average cost of malpractice insurance is a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) is a week, month, year? How is work.do insurance and not pay a form.or "Bill" get automatically deducted from your weekly salary? I know that starting salaries for IAC is approximately $ 115000-150000 per year, depending on where you live and work, and I'm trying to get an estimate on how much you take home (after taxes, medical malpractice insurance , health insurance, retirement, etc.) Does anyone have any idea what is actually against the ACC salary? Please reply if you know what I mean. And no, there is a CAD Acc (nurses cert. Help) .There is a difference (degree in nursing, years of experience in RN after two years of university studies in a Master Anesth nurse!). Also, I know that some places say they are paying for your professional liability insurance, health insurance, etc. benefits.i 100% by is this normal? At first I thought CNRAs was covered by the anesthesiologist, and do not need insurancebut negligence seems that this is not case. Thanks repsonse! Prizes will vary from state to live in his years of experience, or problems in the past. However, approximately. $ 5000/year. Most employers pay for it. But not if they are 1,099 union. There are many variables to your question, such as location, experience, employer, etc, then it is difficult to give an exact answer. But one thing I encourage you to consider is to receive and pay for their "political cover" if the employer provides its own malpractice insurance as part of their benefits package. I have seen many nurses "stretched" by organizations such as "given" malpractice. Employer loyalty first is its organization, and I've seen nurses "sacrificed" for violations of the law very bad nurse in relation to boost pressure vs. Nobody will ever be more than your driver's license and "behind" when you do not care, so make sure you are consistent.

is being a nurse anesthetist worth the risk and time and how much malpractice insurance costs?

I'm going to start going to college to become one, but I hear that is not worth much because all the critical and demanding? If you're really set on it, go for it. The insurance is paid by the employer. Most CRNAs know the love of his work, college (for BSN): 4 years experience: At least 2 years in critical care areas, Crna School: 2 years I have waited more than Pang Olin. CRNAs must have run into some bad. A good depends Crna your anesthesiologist and vice versa. For all CRNAs to blame the doctor, I've seen enough of the arrogant MD with a God complex. Honestly, I have seen more cases of neglect, where the documents are trying to blame the nurses, technicians, etc. My surgeon and I are a team. Do not blame someone when things go wrong. I respect your background, knowledge and experiences. They trust me to help if necessary. It's the same for a good team Crna MD /. While you are directed by an anesthesiologist, which is like being sued. You have the "deep pockets", the lawyers, as I heard more about IAC and to blame the anesthesiologist, whatever the situation. This is one reason why I prefer making my own case .

I am a new graduate registered nurse. Is it necessary for me to apply for a malpractice insurance?

It's all right to join unions and associations of nurses in the state? Congratulations on passing your boards! Hooray for you! Yes, absolutely 100% necessary to obtain malpractice insurance! If something were to ever happen (God) and that the court was not only the patient who is suing (and their lawyers) are looking for an excuse to drown you, but the hospital refused to pull the big $ $ s " on their behalf, they are looking for in their evaluation measures that were not in accordance with hospital policy. For example, you have been caring for a patient with CHF who are on a fluid restriction. The guidelines say the hospital when released a site that intravenous use of 3 MLS, which used 10 ml each time it is empty, according to which was 10 times a day. Well, the patient died, and is on the roof, because the family said he died because I had too much fluid. It is not necessary to follow the guidelines in the hospital, simply rinse with 3 NM, making the hospital released him to the wolves and you're SOL. Ultimately, we worked really hard and you have yourself and your driver's license at all costs the hospital and not try to protect your practice, they seek themselves. For the price of carrying out your own insurance, it is worth. Especially if you're on the stand one day. Itself. Congratulations on your success. It is only necessary if you want to work in this area! It is especially important if you work in North America where there is a surplus of lawyers want .

Is it a necessity for a nurse in CA to have her own malpractice insurance?

Do hospitals and clinics to provide insurance in case of additional expenses are being sued for malpractice or necessary? No. Recommended? Yes, both the ANC and the various unions and the nurse LVN help ensure that group coverage is quite cheap. Richard Generally, nurses are insured against malpractice in the hospital, clinic or health system they work. If there is a case of negligence, the Plaintiffs' lawyers are usually the names of all physicians involved and the hospital and health clinic system as defendants. Unless there is a clear indication that some nurses had fallen below the level of care, applicants will simply be the name of the institution of the nurse is employed under. However, during the discovery phase of the process, if you find that the nurse made some sort of lower-quality care, a lawyer for the plaintiffs are likely to be amending the complaint to the specific name of the nurse as well. In both cases, the sister remains in insurance irregularities at the hospital, he / she works for the coverage.
